Description

An upright bike is the machine everyone can use — no technique to learn, no impact, and a seated position that suits older members and beginners alike. A commercial upright bike is the version built to take that traffic.

Programmes on this commercial upright bike

Twelve preset programmes come as standard, alongside manual mode, a user program, heart rate control (H.R.C.) and watt programs. Watt programs hold a constant power output regardless of your cadence, which is how serious training targets are set.

Heart rate control does the same for your pulse: set a target and the bike adjusts resistance to keep you there. Meanwhile a recovery function measures how quickly your heart rate drops after a session, which is a genuinely useful fitness marker.

The console

The dual-colour backlit LCD covers time, speed, distance, calories, pulse, recovery and RPM. Because it is backlit, it stays readable in a dim gym corner as well as a bright one.

There is a tablet and phone bracket, a USB port and a built-in speaker. On a forty-minute steady ride, having somewhere to prop a tablet is the difference between finishing and cutting it short.

Built for a gym floor

The flywheel weighs 6 kg and the three-piece crank arm is the heavy-duty type used on commercial equipment rather than the single-piece cranks found on home bikes. Therefore it takes years of use without developing play at the pedals.

The frame is rated to 150 kg, which is above what most upright bikes manage and covers virtually any member.

Upright or spin bike?

An upright bike puts you in a comfortable, seated posture with a wide saddle — better for long steady sessions and for anyone who finds a racing position uncomfortable. A spin bike puts you low and forward for hard, out-of-the-saddle work.

Most gyms need both. Browse our exercise bike range for the spin options, or the wider commercial equipment selection.

Who buys a commercial upright bike

Gyms, hotels, estate fitness rooms, corporate gyms and physiotherapy practices. It also suits home buyers who want equipment specified to outlast a household rather than a warranty period.

KSh 90,000. Watt programs, heart-rate control and a 150 kg rating put this well above home-grade bikes at similar money.

Common questions

What is watt control on a commercial upright bike?

The bike holds a constant power output by adjusting resistance as your cadence changes, so your effort stays the same throughout.

What is the maximum user weight?

150 kg.

Does it measure heart rate?

Yes, through hand pulse sensors, and it has a recovery test that scores how fast your pulse falls afterwards.

Can I charge my phone on it?

There is a USB port on the console, alongside a bracket for a phone or tablet.
