The NORFLEX XR700VR is an auto incline treadmill built around one idea: let people run at home as often as they want without their knees making the decision for them.
Suspension that takes 80% of the impact
Heavy-duty suspension sits under the deck, backed by an anti-shock system and a silica gel absorber. Together they remove up to 80 percent of the impact that would otherwise travel into your ankles, knees and back.
That figure is the whole argument for running indoors rather than on tarmac. Road running gives you nothing back; a cushioned deck returns some of the energy and absorbs the rest.
Motor, speed and auto incline
A DC 3.5 horsepower motor drives speeds from 1.0 to 16 km/h, with automatic incline up to 15 percent. The machine supports users up to 150 kg, which is above most home treadmills.
Speed and incline quick keys are set into the handrail. Therefore you can change either without breaking stride to reach the console, which matters during intervals.
Twelve built-in programmes
Twelve programmes handle the planning for you. Switch to whichever suits the session, and the machine manages speed and gradient while you concentrate on running.
A high-tech heart rate sensor tracks your cardiovascular effort, and the display covers speed, time, distance and calories.
Entertainment and maintenance
There is an iPad holder, MP3 and USB input, and high-quality speakers, so podcasts and playlists come through the machine rather than a phone propped against the console.
Maintenance is handled by an easy self-lubricating system. That is the job most owners forget, and forgetting it is how belts and motors die early.
