A Merach elliptical cross trainer gives you a full-body cardio session with your feet never leaving the pedals. No impact, no jarring, and your arms working as hard as your legs.
What a Merach elliptical cross trainer works
Arms, legs, abdominals and glutes all engage on every stroke. The dual handlebars are what bring the upper body in — push and pull through them rather than letting your arms go along for the ride.
Because a larger share of your muscle mass is working, you burn more for the same perceived effort than you would on a bike. Meanwhile there is no landing force at all, so joints stay comfortable.

24 levels of magnetic resistance
Transmission is magnetic, with 24 adjustable resistance levels. Magnetic systems have no contact points, so nothing wears out and nothing rubs — which is why they run silently and last for years.
Twenty-four levels covers a gentle recovery session at the bottom and a genuinely hard interval at the top, with fine steps in between.
Build and stability
The frame is robust and stable, weighing 41 kg and rated to a 150 kg maximum load. That rating is high for a machine at this price and covers users most home ellipticals exclude.
It measures 1210 x 1580 x 600 mm, so allow roughly a metre and a quarter of floor length plus room to move behind it.

The console
A console with display sits above the handlebars, and a heart rate sensor tracks your pulse as you train. Heart rate is the most useful number on any cardio machine: it tells you whether you are actually working or just moving.

How to train on it
Start with twenty minutes at a low resistance, holding a steady rhythm. Once that feels easy, move to intervals: one minute at a hard level, two minutes easy, repeated eight times.
Moderate activity most days is what the World Health Organisation recommends for general health, and an elliptical is one of the easier ways to actually hit that.
Who it suits
Anyone with knee, hip or ankle problems, anyone returning to exercise, and heavier users. It also works well for households where two people of different fitness levels share one machine.
