KSh 65,000
Rowing is the most complete movement in a gym. The JX R2048 rowing machine is a rugged, straightforward version of it — sixteen resistance levels, a clear display, and a frame rated to 150 kg.
What the JX R2048 rowing machine trains
The drive phase works your legs and hips. The swing works your back. The pull works your shoulders and arms. In one stroke you have covered most of your body, and you have done it without a single impact.
That last point is why rowers suit people whose knees, hips or ankles rule out running. There is no landing, so there is nothing to absorb.

Sixteen resistance levels
Resistance adjusts across sixteen program levels. Low settings give a light technique session; high settings make each stroke a genuine strength effort.
Because the range is wide, one machine covers a household. Someone rehabilitating a back and someone training for conditioning can share it without compromise.
The console
An LCD window displays speed, distance, time, calories and total distance covered. Use distance per session as your benchmark — holding the same distance in less time is the clearest sign of progress there is.

Getting the technique right
The order is legs, back, arms on the way out, then arms, back, legs on the way back. Most beginners pull with their arms first, which wastes the strongest muscles in the movement.
Keep the stroke rate low while you learn — around twenty strokes a minute. Speed comes from power per stroke, not from rushing.
Who this rowing machine suits
Home users who want one machine to cover cardio and strength, anyone with joint problems, and heavier users — the 150 kg rating is generous for a machine at this price.

Price in Kenya
KSh 65,000. For a 39 kg machine with sixteen resistance levels and a 150 kg rating, it sits well below what comparable rowers cost imported.
Common questions
Is the JX R2048 rowing machine hard on the back?
Not with correct technique. Drive with the legs first and keep the back braced rather than rounded.
What is the maximum user weight?
150 kg.
How much space does it need?
The assembled size is 1790 x 520 x 800 mm, so allow roughly two metres of length.
How long should a session be?
Start with ten minutes and build to twenty or thirty. Rowing is demanding, so short sessions are still productive.
