Sensory Regulating Spikes Ball /Massage Ball/Gym Ball

A sensory regulating spikes ball does three jobs at once: it massages, it trains balance, and it gives a nervous system something calming to work against. At 75cm it is large enough for adults to sit and roll on rather than just hold.

What a sensory regulating spikes ball is for

The soft spikes press into the skin across a wide area. That pressure is what relieves tension through the back, hips and shoulders, and it is the same principle physiotherapists use with smaller trigger point tools.

For children, the texture provides sensory input that many find calming and organising. Therapy centres use these for exactly that reason, and the fitness benefit comes along for free.

Massage and tension relief

Sit on it, lean back against a wall with it behind your shoulder blades, or roll a calf slowly across it. Because your own body weight sets the pressure, you control exactly how deep the massage goes.

Meanwhile the wide contact area makes it gentler than a lacrosse ball or a foam roller, which is why people who find those too sharp get on with this instead.

Balance and core training with a sensory regulating spikes ball

Sitting upright on an unstable ball forces your core to work constantly. Ten minutes of that at a desk does more for posture than any amount of reminding yourself to sit straight.

You can also use it for the standard gym ball movements: wall squats, hamstring curls, ball passes and stretches over the top of the ball to open the chest.

Where a sensory regulating spikes ball fits

It suits homes, gyms and therapy rooms equally. Parents buy it for sensory play, adults buy it for back tension, and trainers buy it for balance work with clients.

It sits naturally alongside our yoga accessories, and it pairs well with anything in the recovery range.

Looking after it

Keep it away from rough concrete and anything sharp. Wipe it down with a damp cloth rather than a solvent, and check the inflation every few weeks — a slightly soft ball is far less useful for balance work.

Price in Kenya

It is KSh 2,999, reduced from KSh 3,500. For a piece of equipment that covers massage, balance, core work and sensory support, that is a lot of use per shilling.

Common questions

Is a sensory regulating spikes ball safe for children?

Yes, with supervision. The spikes are soft and rounded rather than sharp, and the ball is designed for both children and adults.

Do the spikes hurt?

No. They press rather than poke, and your body weight controls how firm that pressure is.

Does it come with a pump?

Check the listing details at checkout. Any standard ball pump will inflate it if one is not included.

Which colour will I get?

It comes in pink, purple, red and blue. Let us know your preference when you order and we will match it where stock allows.
